Making and accepting bids for connection is an easy way to promote positivity in your relationship.

Bids for connection are the ways we reach out to one another daily. This can be done in verbal or non -verbal ways and may come in the form of a statement, question, or a gesture.

A squeeze of the shoulder, a wink, a smile.

Asking to watch a show together, asking how dinner tasted, sharing a funny story that happened to you that day.

These are all ways in which we attempt to connect to our partner and these simple bids are significant to the success of a relationship.

Today I want you to keep track of your own bidding. Make a point to reach out to your partner in different ways. Try at least three different ways to bid for connection today.

The purpose of this exercise is not to keep inventory of your partners bids, but rather, to focus just on making your own. Hey, if you want to do more than three, better yet!
