Wanda Hively

Ms. Hively has been practicing as a mental health therapist for over 30 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Individual Studies from Kent State University and her Master’s degree in Community Counseling, also from Kent State. Wanda has worked in a battered women’s shelter, public mental health agencies, and a hospital setting, where she provided intensive outpatient group therapy.

Wanda approaches therapy from a trauma-informed perspective, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing.

In your therapy sessions, Wanda will support you in taking meaningful steps toward your goals while also celebrating your progress along the way. Personal growth can often be derailed by negative core beliefs, life transitions, and experiences of loss or trauma. Wanda believes each individual is the narrator of their own story and works collaboratively to help clients challenge limiting beliefs, process past experiences, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. She will guide and encourage you in developing a growth mindset—one step at a time, one day at a time.

We all experience transitions and losses throughout our lives. Wanda is passionate about helping clients navigate grief, life changes, and trauma while creating new, meaningful beginnings. These experiences can often lead to anxiety, depression, and a diminished sense of purpose or self-worth. Through therapy, Wanda helps clients reconnect with their inner strength, build hope for the present, and find small moments of joy that support a more fulfilling future.

Outside of the office, Wanda enjoys landscaping during the summer months, interior design, collecting inspirational quotes, reading, photography, and spending time with friends and her two cats.
