Kristin Anderson

Kristin Anderson, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, who specializes in the treatment of adults with anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Dr. Anderson is also experienced in treating adolescents, adults, and older adults with problems related to depression, anger, emotion regulation, sleep, chronic pain, and difficult life circumstances, including medical conditions and relationship issues. She primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), though she regularly incorporates elements of other treatments, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Dr. Anderson also conducts psychological evaluations, pre-surgical evaluations, and assessments for cognitive impairments. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bowling Green State University and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She then completed a postdoctoral residency at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, where she received intensive training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.

Dr. Anderson became a psychologist because she wanted to reduce the stigma around mental health problems and help people become aware of and access evidence-based psychotherapy that could effectively alleviate their difficulties. What she loves most about her work is being able to observe and hear about improvements in her clients’ lives as they progress in therapy.

Previous clients have said they liked Dr. Anderson’s nice, calming personality as well as her instructive, yet collaborative approach to therapy. In her free time, Kristin enjoys reading, playing board games, going to the theater, dancing, and waterskiing.
