Diana Barkman


Diana Barkman is a clinical social worker / therapist with additional training in substance abuse counseling. She has worked with adults, adolescents, and the geriatric population since 1997. Ms. Barkman’s primary method of therapy is Cognitive Behavioral. Of particular note is Ms. Barkman’s training in E.M.D.R. (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). E.M.D.R. is a method of trauma therapy that addresses information processing and emotional distress linked to past memories.

Ms. Barkman has worked in both residential and outpatient settings. She has facilitated group therapy, taught educational modules, and is skilled in individual therapy. She provides a therapeutic environment that is both relaxed and nonjudgmental. She strongly believes in the social work principal that urges focus on the “dignity and worth of the individual” and finds satisfaction in assisting clients as they navigate life’s sometimes difficult challenges.

Ms. Barkman has been married to Mitch since 1990. They have a blended family that allows for a variety of personality mixtures, making life very interesting!
