
Nicole Melchi holds a license as a Marriage & Family Therapist and a Professional Clinical Counselor with supervisory status for the state of Ohio. As a Certified Gottman Therapist, she has advanced training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. Her passion is working with couples and families. She particularly enjoys counseling couples who experience difficult life transitions. Nicole’s goal is to help partners know one another in a way that enriches understanding, peace, and security. Creating dialogue around difficult topics is a skill necessary to any thriving relationship. Supporting couples who experience existential struggles to create positive change, gain self-awareness, and build insight is an important part of her work. Different life experiences impact a couples ability to connect and communicate. Therefore, Nicole believes the ability to understand personal worldviews creates a space for change.
She is also a qualified Seven Principles Leader and a Bringing Baby Home Educator through the Gottman Institute. Additionally, she is certified as a Prepare and Enrich Facilitator, has received training in understanding and treating perinatal/postpartum issues, and is working toward certification as a Spiritual Christian Counselor (SCC-C).
Nicole’s systemic approach helps individuals and couples to understand their struggles and achieve their goals. Her mission is to create a place that is welcoming and provides safety for everyone she encounters. Clients appreciate Nicole’s honesty, direct approach, and ability to foster acceptance and validation . Nicole’s husband, five children, and faith are central to her life. She values continual self-evaluation and discernment. This allows her to work toward becoming a better wife, mother, therapist, and exemplar of compassion.
