Diane J. Maytas is a licensed professional clinical counselor, art therapist and clinical hypnotherapist. Diane’s experience includes working with adolescents and adults in individual and group sessions. Sessions explore self-awareness, empowerment and healing through self-expression while identifying motivation to change, regulating emotions and behavior changes.

Diane’s holistic, eclectic approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral interventions and Dialectical Behavioral inspired coping skills along with Art Therapy and Heart-Centered hypnotherapy.

Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that utilizes art media as a vessel of communication between the client and art therapist. Through creative self-expression the client is able to explore and identify emotions, stressors, tensions and trauma in their lives. Art therapy is an effective tool to promote resilience through processing and overcoming barriers. For more information on art therapy please visit the Buckeye Art Therapy Association (BATA) website at http://www.buckeyearttherapy.org/

Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy sessions begin with a relaxing experience through guided visuals. The client can safely explore current issues looking at self-sabotage life patterns and behaviors. As clients begin to release and deeply explore core issues such as sadness, anxiety, anger, hurt, fear, grief, shame and guilt, the client is able to work towards altering behavior patterns as they release energy that has been holding them back. Client and therapist work together bridging the subconscious and conscience mind where healing and transformation can occur.

In her free time Diane likes to spend time with her family, create art, travel and cook.
